Air Conditioning
The house is not equipped with air conditioning. Typically opening a few windows and turning on the ceiling fans will cool the house down sufficiently. There are extra fans in the closets throughout the house.

Check in time is 4:00 PM. Feel free to arrive at any time after that. The door code will be the last four digits of the phone number on the reservation.

Check out time is 11:00 AM. If you need a later checkout, please message us and we will let you know if a late checkout can be accommodated.
Before you leave, please 1) load and start the dishwasher, 2) pile used bed linens on top of each bed, 3) place used towels on the bathroom floor, 4) discard all open food items, 5) turn off all lights, 6) lower and secure the picnic table umbrella, and 7) close and lock all doors and windows.
Cleaning Supplies
Basic cleaning supplies are in the broom closet in the front hallway. If you make a mess, please clean it up.
Coffee Maker
The coffee maker is on the counter. Filters and ground coffee are on a shelf in the pantry cupboard.
Damage
If you damage or break something, please let us know immediately.
Dish Washer Detergent/Soap
There are dishwasher tabs and liquid dish soap under the sink.
Doorbell Camera
We have a doorbell camera at the front door. It is pointed away from the house and there are no other cameras on the property.
Driveway
We share our driveway with a neighbor. Our house is to the right at the fork. Please stay to the right. If you find yourself on a paved asphalt driveway, you are at the wrong house.
Fire Pit
You are free to use the fire pit, except during the no-burn period between March 15 – May 15 every year. Please fully extinguish the fire before going inside. You can purchase firewood at any roadside wood rack, or at the Little Supermarket in Wilmington.
Fire Extinguisher
The fire extinguisher is hanging on the kitchen wall to the right of the refrigerator.
First Aid Kit
There is a first aid kit in the bottom drawer of the vanity cabinet opposite the washer/dryer.
Front/Garage Entry Doors
To unlock the door, enter your code and press the checkmark button. You’ll hear the door unlock and a chime telling you it’s open. To lock the door, press the round “Yale” button at the top of the keypad.
Garage
Please do not park in the garage.
Garbage Disposal
The switch for the garbage disposal is under the sink on the right side. Flip the switch up to turn the disposal on. Flip the switch back down to turn the disposal off. Please always run water while the disposal is on. Do not put the following items down the disposal: bones, bread, coffee grounds, eggshells, fruit pits, nuts, oil/grease, onions, pasta, potato peels, rice, or seeds. Please dispose of those items in the garbage.
Grill
Please clean the grill after each use and put the cover back on. A grill brush is hanging on the grill itself. An additional cleaning fee will be assessed if the grill is not cleaned when you check out.
Heat
We have hydronic radiant floor heat, which takes time to warm up and cool down – approximately one degree every hour. There are three thermostats throughout the house: one on the wall above the dining room table that controls the main living area, one in the front guest room that controls both guest rooms and the guest bathroom, and one in the master bedroom that controls the master bedroom and bathroom. There are also space heaters in closets throughout the house.
Laundry
There is a washer and dryer in the shared bathroom. Detergent and dryer sheets are on the shelf to the left.
Parking
You may park in any available space in the driveway or turnout. Please do not park in the garage, in the grass or anywhere else off the driveway.
Pets
We do not allow pets to stay at the house.
Quiet Hours
We are in the woods but we do have neighbors. Please keep noise to a minimum inside and outside between the hours of 10:00 PM and 9:00 AM.
Refrigerator/Pantry
Please discard all open food items before you check out.
Smoke/CO2 Alarms
There is a smoke/CO2 alarm in every bedroom and in the living room. They are hardwired and interconnected. If the alarms go off and you can’t quiet them, call 911.
Smoking
There is absolutely no smoking of any kind inside the house. This includes vapes, e-cigarettes, marijuana, or tobacco of any kind. An additional cleaning fee will be assessed if you smoke inside.
Space Heaters
Space heaters are located in closets throughout the house. Please turn the space heaters off when not in use and avoid placing anything directly on or near them.
Thermostats
There are three thermostats throughout the house, one on the wall above the dining room table that controls the main living area, one in the front guest room that controls both guest rooms and the guest bathroom, and another in the master bedroom that controls the master bedroom and bathroom. We have hydronic radiant floor heat, which takes time to warm up and cool down – approximately one degree every hour.
Toilet
Please do not put anything in the toilet except the toilet paper provided, including flushable wet wipes. We have a septic system that does not break down wet wipes (even the flushable ones), tampons, pads, paper towels or anything other than the toilet paper provided.
Towels/Linens
Towels will be provided on towel racks or shelves in the bathrooms. Extra blankets and comforters are in the closet and/or under the bed in each bedroom.
Trash/Recycling
There are two trash cans in the pull-out cabinet to the left of the sink. You can place trash and recycling together in either can. Extra trash bags are under the sink. If you fill up a trash can, please remove the bag, tie the top into a knot and place it in one of the large trash cans in the garage. Please do not place or leave trash outside, where the wildlife can get into it.
WiFi
Wifi network and password are provided at check-in.
WiFi Router/Modem
The WiFi router is on the white shelf to the left of the TV. If you need to reset it, there is an on-off switch on the back of it, or you can simply unplug it from the wall and plug it back in. The modem is in the front corner of the garage near the electric panel. If you need to reset it, you can flip the switch at the bottom of the surge protector off and then back on. Please do not disturb the actual modem, as the fiber connection is fragile and could break.
